Cu Chi Tunnels

We ventured outside of HCMC proper for a Saturday adventure to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an hour and a half drive through the Vietnamese countryside...the drive itself was worth the visit. The "tourist" attraction...well it's hit and miss, I suppose...a little hokey maybe, but definitely interesting. It offered lots of walking (mostly shaded) throughout the site with a guide who explains in English different aspects of the attraction. Overall, it was a nice change of pace from the chaos of the city and motorbike free!

Note: there are many organized tours with offers including transportation and a personalized guide from Saigon, but if you have your own transportation, save the extra cash and enjoy your own leisurely visit to the site (you'll just pay the entrance fee).

On the way home, we made a quick reservation for dinner to one of our favorite pizza spots, Pizza 4P's!
