Southern Vietnam has just two seasons - rainy and dry. It's hot year-round, a perpetual summer with only slight fluctuations in the temperature that sits steadily in the mid-twenties to mid-thirties {that's 80/90's for you Fahrenheit people.} The humidity definitely adds to the "feels like" heat index. Thus, I sweat - often - just from being, mind you...I don't even have to be active to get a good perspiration on! While I yearn for the mild seasons of the Pacific Northwestern United States, I'm continually enamored by the arrival of rainy season in Ho Chi Minh City.
I took this time lapse video of a thunderstorm's arrival over our little slice of Saigon's District 2. Our daily norm - an afternoon deluge of rain rolling out almost as quickly as it came in. Some of my favorite photos include the time just before or after these spells.
